Video creation and video editing is one hobby I enjoy(or used to, lol). A lot of content creators, especially on Instagram, create videos and most people just wonder the apps they use for those great videos.
SideNote: You can check out my profile on Instagram here.
A lot of people use InShot, PhotoGrid and maybe some other apps I don’t know of. However, I’m here to share the TWO apps you should definitely add to your video editing apps, apps you may or may not have heard of and why you should consider checking them out.
If you haven’t heard of Quik, then PAUSE right now and go straight to GOOGLE! Quik is the ultimate video editing app content creators (or really, just anyone) use. It was developed by GoPro Inc. and it’s available on both Android and iOS. It’s so easy to use for creating short, engaging and interesting videos. It’s a fave of mine and it’s responsible for most of the videos on my IGTV. Below are features I really love about the app.
- Quik allows you to add a whole bunch of photos and video clips and somehow, it automatically detects and analyze your videos to select great moments. It has quite a number of themes you can choose from, each creating a unique video. It basically creates your video for you and so EASILY TOO!
- Each theme has two or three songs attached and what I find so awesome is that Quik detects the beats of the songs and syncs them to transitions in pictures and video clips. You can also import songs from your library.
It has a whole lot of wonderful features but the fact that Quik basically creates my videos with little effort from me, that’s what makes it my go-to app for video editing and creation. You can read more about the app HERE.

Splice was created by the same developer of Quik, GoPro Inc. but is now under the control of another company called Bending Spoons. In my opinion, Splice is like the parent of Quik and it’s used to create longer, professional-looking videos. It also has so many powerful features but again, I’ll only mention the key features I love about the app.
- Apart from the fact that I can make longer videos, it’s so easy to cut out unwanted parts of video clips. It has a number of cool transitions that can be added to switch between clips. You can also zoom in and out your videos amongst other features.
- Although it doesn’t come with themes and matching songs, you can choose from their free music and sound effects library or use a song from your library. You can also do a voiceover and it gives you the ability to simultaneously use up to three audios in your videos. You can trim and mix multiple songs at different intervals, hence you can use as many songs as you want in one video.
SPLICE is the video editing app to try if you’re looking to create longer videos with more control of your audio tracks, speed, transitions and a whole other features. The only downside is that it’s currently only available for iOS devices. You can read more about it HERE.
I’d love to go on but I believe I’ve written enough to pique your interest and maybe, just maybe you’d check them out.
Have You Tried these apps before? What do you think about them? LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS!!
