Current Skincare Routine For Hyperpigmentation + Dark Spots

For the past three months, my skincare routine has been focused mainly on hyperpigmentation and getting rid of acne(pimple) spots. I remember sharing a post on a facial injury and how it left a sizeable dark spot after healing. I also have other acne spots and my TO alpha arbutin serum has not been effective in fading them.
As a result, I stripped my routine down to the basics (mostly) and incorporated some new products to test their efficacy. My new hyperpigmentation serum is the highlight but I thought it best to share all the products I currently focus on.
It feels like forever since I shared a skincare article so this was quickly put together. Still, I hope you find it helpful. Don’t forget to drop a comment!

My Current Routine For Hyperpigmentation
I’ll be honest and start by saying that I have not been extremely consistent with my routine 🙊. Sometimes, I skip my evening routine because I am too tired to even remember. However, I try my best because these little suckers called acne keep showing up and leaving nasty dark spots.
There are currently four main products in my hyperpigmentation routine; three of them are new. I’ll skip steps that do not involve the four products because I still use products I have previously shared.
1) IUNIK Vitamin Hyaluronic Acid Vitalising Toner
Like I mentioned in one of my previous posts, I have wanted to try IUNIK products for a while. I bought this toner from Yesstyle back in April and I recently pulled it out of my stash.
About: A gel type toner with daily brightening and moisturising benefits to help rebalance and soften the skin.
I have wanted to try a product with Tranexamic acid for the longest time! It’s one of those underrated ingredients great for hyperpigmentation, discolouration and reducing dark spots.
Apart from the Good Molecules discoloration serum, I barely come across any mainstream product with the ingredient. I have heard a lot about its benefits though, so the Suganda serum was a great opportunity to try it out.
About: A brightening serum that targets hyperpigmentation and inhibits melanin production.
It was my first time coming across sulforawhite and I was quite skeptical from the articles I found on it.
However, like most products, it was possibly tagged as whitening for marketing purposes; it is actually supposed to inhibit melanin formation, just like other hyperpigmentation products.
I am still cautious though, so I only use it on specific spot areas.
As a blogger, Instagram and YouTube content creator, I offer a wide range of services specifically tailored for brands and small businesses. I’d love to work with you!
3) SUGANDA Mandelic Acid Serum
Along with the Tranexamic acid serum, these two are tagged as the “Anti Pigmentation Duo” by the brand. IIt is my first 3-in-1 exfoliant (has BHA, AHA and PHA!) and I introduced it into my routine two months ago.
Notes:The two products were gifted by Suganda with no obligations for a review.
About: An exfoliating serum that removes dead skin cells and refines skin texture.
4) Etude House Sun-Prise Mild Watery Light SPF50+ PA+++
Any routine is incomplete without a sunscreen so I just had to include one. I am currently using a new one from Etude House, and you can also check out other variants by the same brand.
